What to Expect
Choosing to work on your mental health is a significant step and I want to thank you for considering me as your provider. You can contact me to set up your initial appointment by phone, email, or through the website. You will also find the intake packet on the website under the forms section with information and forms to be completed prior to your first appointment. In your initial appointment we will go over your background and history as it relates to your mental health as well as current issues and concerns. From there, we will determine treatment goals and develop a flexible schedule for future sessions based on your treatment needs.
Once you are an established client you will also be given access to an online client portal in which you can easily schedule and manage appointments, join telehealth sessions, complete paperwork, and make payments.
Therapy sessions are collaborative in nature and client-centered, based on your unique needs. I primarily utilize cognitive-behavioral interventions which focus on changing contributing thoughts and behaviors to improve overall functioning and well-being. I utilize psychoeducation including teaching and demonstrating various skill-based interventions if appropriate based on your treatment needs. I also combine interventions with play therapy techniques when working with children and adolescents.
